LASTLY, I am recording an EP!!! I went into the studio with Jim, Bryan, and Michael at the end of March to lay down the basic tracks and since then, we have been in the studio working with the incredibly talented and awesome and patient and fantastic Anthony Gravino at the Drake. The experience has been so much fun thus far and we are working on it diligently, hoping to release it in the early summer. YAY!

Excited about what’s happening in the future! Please check out my performances page and mark your calendars! March 22, Treehouse is at Martyrs’… April 3rd, Huck Fate (friends from Sandwich and Champaign) are coming out to play with my band at the Tonic Room… May 2nd is a BIG ONE! My band will be at the Double Door with 2 other bands, TBD. But it’s gonna be a great night at a stellar venue. In the mean time, consider picking up the new Treehouse record, or some Information Superhighway, or my record from way back when, “Here I Am”. Lots of new music on the way as well!!!

I am so excited about this record. The process of making it was a very enjoyable experience, we had such a blast with the folks at I.V. Lab… this being our first album since beginning this project a few years ago, the four of us were ready to make it happen. This record has a few songs we’ve been playing for a while that have undergone minor changes through the years, and songs that are newer to our repertoire that have taken on a new character since recording them. I think the most exciting thing about this band is that the sound continually changes, however the underlying current is constant. We have new music we will be performing at our Jerry’s gig on January 6… I have started playing guitar to lay a bed of sound under Jim’s pulsing rhythmic and melodic lines… we’ve got Martin holding down the bass while Pete continues killing it on the drums and percussion… Treehouse is a band that challenges me musically and artistically, but also comes from a place I feel like I’ve known for years.
I encourage you to take a listen to the tracks or just do a quick click and buy the damn thing! You can either receive it as a download or order the physical cd (which is beautiful, by the way – the artwork is fabulous!!). Thanks for your support and without further ado, here’s the link:

Nearing the end of 2011, I am thinking back on all the events of the year, the year that has passed by in a flash! There have been many musical and personal successes, I am overjoyed with the growth I can see around me… new albums, new shows, new bands being formed… it’s inspiring! I am surrounded by INCREDIBLE people in music and beyond, I feel very grateful for all of you who have been in my life for a long time and those whom I have recently been connected with – so much love going out to you right now!!! and thank you
Just a heads up, Treehouse will be playing with musical mastermind, Justin Purtill at Jerry’s Sandwiches on Friday, January 6 at 10:00 p.m. Please mark it on your calendar and come help us begin our 2012 “season”!!! You know we’ll be having a good time… always do!

First of all, a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out for the Treehouse cd release show… it was a success with standing room only and many new faces and many faces we love to see… and of course Psycles was in great form as well. We really enjoyed teaming up and sharing a couple of shows with a band made up of phenomenal musicians, who happen to be really great, fun people as well… always a plus, right?
ANYWAY! This week, playing in Lincoln Park’s Tonic Room this Wednesday @ 9pm with Jim Tashjian; We’re going to play some of my tunes, some of his tunes, and cover a few songs we like and want to play together. We open the show, so come through and hang out with us.
